Success through sports

We had a great week! Lots of surprises haha! So in my district now Elder Kirkham is back And Elder Morrey my trainer is her now as well! So even though its a new transfer I know my district even better!

Brother P had his Baptism interview and we taught him his last lesson! So he'll be baptized this Friday! haha

So on Friday I got a text from President Bekker saying there was a family who wanted to meet me and asked if I could make a trip to go see them.. So I was a little confused, but he ended up calling me later and said it was the Chatfield family! (They were the mission president in Uganda before Steve and I) I was able to have a very nice dinner with them and talk about their mission in Uganda as well. It was crazy some of the stories that they have had! I was really happy President Bekker allowed us to see them.

We had a couple funny stories! So I got bored of tracting one day.. So we challenged some college kids to basketball! I told them If we win we get to teach a lesson and if they do we'll go buy them drinks! So they accepted and of course we won because we have the spirit with us.. haha.  But we taught them and then told them that we play basketball at the church every Thursday! And since then one of those guys has been texting us everyday and asking what time our services are at and inviting us to go on hikes etc.. So we actually found a solid investigator from playing Pros ball haha! Also we have a group of around 20-25 non members who we play volleyball with, and they have been wanting to come to church and figure out more about what we believe! haha we've found a lot of success by playing sports here which  I don't  mind at all!

Everything is going great! And I love you guys

Transfer news

We had an awesome week! I got transfer news and lucky to say all is staying the same! So I'll be in Mililani for 6 months! haha kinda funny.. 2 areas in one year! But I'm really grateful I get to stay another transfer here. The ward is amazing! And we have a lot of work as well.. So time just flies.

We are teaching a new family as well! The Brown family. She is a returning less active and wants to take all the lessons again! She has two boys who aren't members and are around my age. She told us it's been really hard, because the boys will ask her questions but she doesn't know the answers.. So she decided to give us a call so we can teach them. They are an awesome family! She is excited because she feels like this is giving her a backbone again in the gospel. After the lesson the spirit was so strong! She was so grateful after a couple tears she told us she forgot what she has been missing out on all these years of not coming to church. It was a awesome testimony booster.

Other than that, we're just keeping busy and trying to work hard! haha It's been a little rough because I've tracted out our whole area and been through every name in our area book! So now when we go tracting or go through our area book, a lot of people recognize me from last time after they told me no.. haha whoops! But everything is going great!

I love you guys!
Elder Collings

After one of our lessons we were given a watermelon... Don't know why, but we were. So of course I ate it. But a member saw us and thought it was funny and wanted to take a picture since I was eating it with a knife. Haha.
Mom here... I received a letter from President and Sister Chatfield. They were just released as Mission President and Wife of the Uganda Kampala Mission. They were visiting family in Hawaii, and took our missionary and his companion to dinner. Made us so happy!!

100 Lessons

This is the last week of transfers here! I'm hoping I stay one more transfer because we have all our baptisms lined up in September! Rubin is being baptized September 9th! He has been taking the lessons for over 7 years and I've been working with him ever since I got here! And now finally he is going to be baptized! So I hope I'm here... But if not I know the Lord needs me somewhere else! For district meeting we are going to have a testimony meeting since everyone is so new in my district! Almost all the companionship's have been out for less than 4 months hahaha so it'll be fun to hear their testimonies and see how they have grown over the past 6 weeks! I made a goal this transfer and wanted our district to hit 100 total lessons in a week and we finally did it!!!  This transfer has had so many blessings/miracles and I can't wait to see what happens next. I love you!

August 16th

We had a great week! Found a new family we are teaching and Rubin's baptism is now set for September 10th! We are just waiting for his family to fly in from Samoa to come. We've had a great transfer and the work has grown so much! Life is good and I hope you have a great week! I loved reading your letter! Love you :)

Mom's worried

Great week. Lots of visits and tracting! We had to drop one of investigators with a baptismal date since he moved to Texas... But the same week got another baptism set up for a guy named Richard B. So it'll be fun to work with him! All is good!

(Not sure I like this picture... mom)

Super Great Week

Super great week! me and Elder Heinburger had 38 lessons this week. and our district combined for 99 lessons in one week. Super cool to see all of the tender mercys the Lord provided for us.

Being district leader is pretty fun! I thought it would be a little harder but I enjoy it a lot! It's been really fun to go on exchanges with other elders.

We had our temple trip today so I wasn't able to write yesterday sorry about that! But everything is going great and the church is true!

Love you all and thanks for everything.

New Companion

We had an awesome week this week! Said goodbye to Elder Livaie! He'll be going back to Honolulu for his last transfer of his mission!

And then I picked up Elder Heinburger! He's going to be such a good missionary! He was real excited to go out and start working.

We had 3 baptismal commitments this week and 27 total lessons! It was defiantly one of the best weeks on my mission. Elder Heinburger is from Heber city but has been living in California for the past year going to school, so he graduated the same year as me! His hobbies are traveling around the world! He has had some really crazy stories haha. I was able to introduce him to some of the local foods down here as well haha its been so fun! He reminds me of myself at the beginning of my mission.

Everything is going well! I hope the same to all of you.
Love you guys!!
